Hello Friends and shoppers!
Welcome to Summer in the Berkshires... you just never know what kind of weather the day will bring. Sun? Thunderstorms? Both? We've been enjoying the good days when we get them.
We will be OPEN on July 4th from 11am-4:30pm.
We had so much fun at the DownStreet Art kick-off celebration and are looking forward to doing it again at the end of the month. The LAST Thursday of every month through October we'll be open until 8:30pm. This will coincide with new gallery exhibitions, events and parties relating to DownStreet Arts.
July 30th- For this month's "Last Thursday"event we will host Mom's Night Out at the store!- Featuring a workshop presented by Sarah Harding- How to make your Nursery "Green".
Sarah is being very generous and raffling off an organic fleece blanket. All attendees for the event will be entered to win!
Come have a drink and some appetizers, get creative or just come for the friendly chit-chat.
All are welcome, but we fully encourage you to gently nudge the dads to go explore KidSpace's Cribliciousdome with the kids while we get a moment to ourselves. 107 Main St....just next door!
If you are hosting or attending a family-friendly event in the area and would like us to add it to the month's community events please e-mail us the details. Thank you.

For those of you who know us, you probably know that we have more ideas and intentions that hours in the day to implement them all.
We need YOUR help.We would love to offer more educational or just-for-fun events at Shima, but we simply aren't organized enough to make it happen ourselves.
If you have a great idea for a workshop that you would like to present at Shima please let us know by e-mailing the workshop details to
us no later than 1 full week before the upcoming month. shima@shimaboutique.com.
Please include:
1. The details of the workshop or event you would like to present.
2. Is the event free or would you like to charge a fee for it?
3. What dates are you available to present this event and how long will the event last?
4. Your minimum attendance required for the event to happen.
5. Contact details on how we should get in touch with you.
Programs
Sling Trial rentals:
Rent slings a carriers to help you find the carrier that works best for your family. Sling rentals are $5/per carrier for a 2 week period. We will remind you when your carrier is due back. Late fees are $1/per day. All payments must be made by credit card. One 2 week rental per carrier brand, per person.
Lending Library:
Come borrow a book! This is a FREE program and anyone with a valid local id is welcome to borrow from the library.

Thursday July 2nd 6-8pm Cloth Diaper & Sling workshop- In 2009 every 1st Thursday we will be holding a cloth diaper workshop and baby wearing tutorial.
We have experienced a growing interest in cloth diapers in the area and want to encourage their use. We will first show you the different methods of cloth diapering and which products are recommended for them. There will be examples of each. We know many families in the area that already use cloth & are encouraging them to attend to help us answer questions and share their expertise. It’s easier than you think and cheaper than using disposables!(not to mention better for the planet)

Thursday July 30th, 6:30pm Moms Night Out(In) - Featuring a workshop presented by Sarah Harding- How to make your Nursery "Green".
This month we'd like to host a Mom's Night Out in the store as our "Last Thursday" DownStreet Art event. It would be awesome if dad's could take the kids off to explore downtown while we chat, but we're not going make this one exclusive to just us mamas.
Sarah is being very generous and raffling off an organic fleece blanket. All attendees for the event will be entered to win!
Come have a drink and some appetizers, get creative or just come for the friendly chit-chat.
We'll have drinks and appetizers but we welcome any food and drink contributions into the mix. Please pre-register: shima@shimaboutique.com
